  What does Icthus mean?
Icthus or "ixthus" is the Greek word for fish.  During early Christianity, Christians were often put to death for practicing their faith, so they worshipped in secret places.  A fish painted on the outside door of a house let other Christians know that they would be safe and welcome inside.  Today the fish symbol with the word icthus written inside of it has come be identified with Christians.  The letters inside form an acrostic which is a message that Christians clearly identify with.  When you put it all together it says, "Jesus Christ is God's Son, the Savior."
